Forbes Magazine releases list of the world’s highest paid DJs
Forbes Magazine, the world’s go-to source for counting other people’s money, has finally begun keeping track of the industry’s highest-earning performers after keeping track of dance music’s economic boom over the last couple of years. Dubbing their list of top ten DJs as “Electronic Cash Kings”, Forbes pulls a list together that looks like your average festival headliners list. This – along with the inclusion of DJ Pauly D of Jersey Shore fame – calls into the question the method used to compile these rankings. Though Forbes is known for their accurate research (think public earnings and tax records, endorsement deals, etc.), it’s easy to wonder how narrow minded their search was. Could a heavy-hitting legend like Sasha or Columbia-Records-backed Daft Punk really not have made a positive dent in their cash flow in 2013? Check out the list for yourself here and you be the judge.
