Deadmau5 & Imogen Heap Announce Global Competition

Two of the world’s most prominent names in the music industry, Deadmau5 and Imogen Heap, have joined forces in search of an animator to help in the production of the official music video for their collaboration “Telecommunications.” The competition guidelines can be found on http://heapmau5.com; the idea for the video, according to Heap, will feature various businessmen repeatedly frustrated by telemiscommunications (the central character is a businessman in an airport trying unsuccessfully to get through to his loved one via cellphone). Twenty animators will be selected and given ownership over a segment of the video. The deadline for entries of single-frame treatment is Monday, December 10. Selected artists will be awarded $50 per second that makes it into the video, but competitors will only have four weeks to complete their segment, so keep time constraints in mind.
