Bassnectar is one of the artists bridging the gap between not only within EDM genres (drum & bass, breakbeat, dubstep) but across music, incorporating source material from hip hop, punk rock, and grunge among others. Bassnectar recently sat down for an interview with Spinner, where he speaks about the migration of electronic music towards a heavier, metal sound and his maturation away from political messages to focus on more actionable ways to make positive contributions to society. His ‘Dollar Per Basshead’ campaign raised ~$250,000 across three charities.
