Shambhala returns to British Columbia this year with some serious booty shakers from the Dirtybird crew and beyond with the likes of Justin Martin, J. PhlipOdeszaChristian Martin, Opiuo, and Hannah Wants. The festival is going to have a very Lightning in a Bottle-like sound with some Burning Man favorites like Bassnectar and Beats Antique. The lineup is rounded out by some funkier beats from Paper Diamond, GRiZ, and What So Not.

Shambhala is one of the longest running electronic music festivals in North America, and will be continuing its commitment to sustainablity in an off-the-grid atmosphere. The festival was founded in 1998 when 500 people gathered at the Salmo River Ranch on a warm Labor Day weekend. 16 years later it maintains its roots in the same location and its founding community dedicated to "Shambhalove." Now sporting over 10,000 festival-goers,  the internationally famed gathering has become an institution in both the festival world and that of electronic music. This year’s lineup unifying element is the producers' dedication to defying genres.
