January. For many of us that live in the Northern Hemisphere, even speaking this word will send a chill down our spines, a chill that is only a glimmering hint of what we endure during the month itself. The snowstorms are the least of it – you know what I’m talking about. What in the world am I supposed to do with this coat that seems to be made from a full grown grizzly bear when I’m in a little cozy restaurant? Why am I so tired and it’s only 6pm? Oh, because it’s so dark outside I feel as though I’ve been sucked into a galactic black hole. And black ice? What IS that stuff, besides the product of some cruel petulant spirit on a mission to spread bruises and humiliation through the world?

But what is this I see? Is that shimmering hope and beautiful respite that I spy on the horizon? Yes! There is an answer dear shivering friends, and it is BPM Festival, which will be taking place from December 30 – January 9 in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. That’s right oh bleary-eyed sufferers, we’re talking eleven days of sun basking, beach hanging, tequila drinking, taco eating, and last but not least, dancing! Can you imagine anything better than escaping the frozen hell of your dreary winter existence and frolicking on the beach to the finest specimens of House and Techno DJs and producers from around the world? I didn’t think so.
