Is Dubstep Avant Garde Musical Genius?

Usually when you think PBS, you associate it with educational programming and Masterpiece Theater but now even they have succumbed to the power of EDM. On their ideas channel they go on to rave about Dubstep saying, “The aural creativity of Dubstep, and its embrace of inharmonic sounds, makes it the most recent member of the long-established Avant Garde community.” Squashing out preconceived accusations that EDM artists are just “button pushers,” the music genre is finally given the recognition deserves through one of our nation’s most sophisticated programming no less.
