Yes. You heard right. The City of Las Vegas has officially deemed January 2 as "Deadmau5 day." The Grammy nominated superstar DJ launches his exclusive partnership with Wynn Las Vegas on the 2. The man under the mouse head will begin his Vegas takeover New Years weekend debuting at XS Nightclub and will continue his domination with dates at Encore Beach Club and XS throughout 2012.

“Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world and Deadmau5 represents the cream of the crop in electronic dance music," said Sean Christie co-owner and managing partner of Encore Beach Club and Surrender Nightclub in Vegas.

After Las Vegas Mayor Caroline Goodman declared an entire week of June "Electric Daisy Carnival Week," "deadmau5 day" is just another example of the cities commitment to what Christie calls "the hottest genre of music that has made a significant positive financial impact to the city this past year."

So there you have it, electronic music is helping the economy. Don't be sorry for partying.
