Australia has been known for bringing us powerhouse DJs/producers Tommy Trash, Dirty South and Hook n Sling, but it's latest talent comes in the form of Miss Anna Lunoe, a name that you should definitely become familiar with.
Her latest single "Breathe" via Ultra Music & Fool's Gold Recs has received the attention of her audience, new fans and producers/DJs alike. "Breathe" is a mixture of Lunoe's very own sultry vocals with a combination of old school rhythms and house; But "Breathe" is only one track on her long list of accomplishments. Still a new fish in the middle of Dance Music's global explosion, she has had the opportunity to collaborate with the likes of fellow Aussie Flume, AC Slater and Touch Sensitive.
Anna Lunoe has been supporting Banks and The Weeknd during his tour across the states. After finishing her second show at NYC's Radio City Music Hall, she headed to Le Poisson Rouge to play her last show in the states. Opening up for Lunoe was Powerslug (Headband & Hooligan), who were also a very pleasant surprise. Not knowing much about Powerslug, one word to describe them would be "groovy". As Lunoe took the decks there was a clear shift of location as her fans moved from the bar area straight to the dance-floor.
With her combination of "everything big, bold, and a little odd," Anna Lunoe is not only a female DJ/producer to be reckoned with, but also just an overall artist that you should keep an eye out on.
