Zedd has announced details for his upcoming sophomore album, True Colors. The release will come nearly three years after the success of his first album in 2012 with Interscope, Clarity, and has genuine promise for equal popularity. The accompanying artwork with the announcement provides a colorful tone for what kind of sound the album will have, and instills a general excitement the album's clever promotions has already paved forth.

Currently in the midst of his True Colors campaign and tour, Zedd has stirred up hype for the release by playing small shows at secret venues all across the United States. Only last month during the annual cultures festival SXSW in Austin, Texas, the beloved DJ threw an epic party in caverns found in the Lone Star state. Zedd’s team posted six “Z” posters along the cities famous 6th street, requesting fans to take pictures with the posters in a contest. The first 50 to complete the task won entrance to the surprise event and adventure. After an hour and a half drive in limos, the lucky winners experienced a special viewing of one of the tracks from True Colors, an intimate meet and greet with Zedd, and received a pair of free Beats by Dre headphones. This first promo event was set to a purple hue, but continues on with each event previewing a different track on the album, matched to different colors and accompanying vibes.

The second was a show that originated in Los Angeles, taking another 50 lucky fans into the desert near Joshua Tree. The hue was orange this time and the song to be previewed was titled "Straight Into The Fire." Zedd talked about the track saying, “This is the song on the new album that sounds the closest to what people would expect me to do — it has that huge vocal that makes you want to cry, in a great way. To me, certain things sound a certain color. A lot of reverb will always sound cold, which will always make me think blue. On this song, the drop is very energetic and very aggressive, kind of like fire, too, so this one was super easy to pick orange.”

The creative campaign has eight more dates and will conclude sometime near the release of the highly anticipated album on May 19th, next month. Locations are still unknown, but by following “ZEDD True Colors” on Twitter you can stay up to date with any upcoming news for the PR events and album – and hopefully secure a spot for the adventure of a lifetime.
