Chicago, the birthplace of house music, is certainly getting their fill of electronic dance music festivals and acts this summer. With Spring Awakening this past weekend, acts at Lollapalooza and North Coast Music Festival, as well as its first beachfront festie, Wavefront Music Festival at Montrose Beach in Chicago, there is bound to be something for every EDM lover in the Windy City.

Next weekend, however, (June 30 and July 1) at Wavefront Music Festival, there are a few special treats for festivalgoers and house music fans that other festivals in Chicago don’t yet possess. For one, the festival is on the shores of Lake Michigan, giving the scene of the festival relaxing and chill vibes. Also, renowned progressive house legend Eric Prydz, who hasn’t toured in the United States in years, will be headlining the festival alongside Erick Morillo, Duck Sauce, MSTRKRFT, John Dahlback, Sasha, Chicago resident Bad Boy Bill and many more.

Catering to the true respect that Chicago shows to its music producers and enthusiasts alike, the festival will also host a local stage where Chicago’s emerging talent can showcase their newest and greatest work. Artists on this stage include Mario Florek, Porn & Chicken, RJ Pickens, Danny V, Zebo and many more.

UPDATE:

Chicago’s inaugural beachside festival, has added a Friday night preview party to kick-off the full weekend of electronic dance music taking place at Montrose Beach. Friday night’s preview party will include live shows by Serge Devant, Lee Curtis, and Be Noit & Sergio, and begin at 5 p.m., and go until 10 p.m.
