JSTJR is a prominent producer in the zouk bass scene who loves to let his music sit at 100 BPM or else a little faster in the twerk range. The Boston-based producer teamed up with Branko, another contributor to the zouk movement, to create "Broken," a somber song on Branko's "Control" EP. They've constructed a very smooth product with effortless vocals, graceful harmonies, haunting echoes, and a kick that has some serious sub bass. Heartache and desperation pour out of the sound, though the lyrics are simple. The synth additions to the final section create an extra tension through the last stretch of the song until at last it fades. Add this song to your breakup playlist and let the feels rush in.
