Jamie XX Feat. Romy – ‘Loud Places’ (Eekkoo Edit)

Let me start by saying the original track is beautiful. “Loud Places” is the first single taken from Jamie XX’s first solo album, In Colour, due to drop on June 6. It’s safe to say the LP has high expectations. With that said, Eekkoo deviates from his normally dark techno tendencies with his edit of “Loud Places.” Eekkoo keeps the original’s integrity by simple adding heavier percussion hits and trimming out a few part here and there to keep the dance vibe up. Discovered by Joel Zimmerman (aka Deadmau5), the Montreal-based producer has yet to make a substantial impact in the dance music community, having only released two EP’s to date, but his production value and musicianship are undeniable.

This brand new remix comes fresh off the release of his Detroit techno-influened track "Warren Avenue." This track shows a new direction for Eekkoo, which very well may point to a separation from the Mau5trap label. Certainly, he has some exciting things in the works.
