On Friday April 26th, Austin’s Fuel Room in Libertyville, will be bringing a two headed monster of a show to shake the suburbs of Chicago. Drum’n’Bass and dubstep all-star Downlink will be the headliner with support from Schoolboy. This venue is new to the EDM world, usually housing alternative rock acts, lately they have been showcasing local EDM talent, and this will be the biggest EDM show here to date. Downlink is no stranger to shaking the dust off of buildings with ear drum shattering bass and his all around energy he brings to the decks when performing. With numerous hits that have topped the Beatport charts such as “Ignition,” “Gamma Ray,” along with a number of collaborations with other dub heavy producers Excision and Datsik. Recently Downlink, Excision, and DJ Sawka have formed a Dubstep super group called Destroid that will be hitting the festival market this summer, with an album release anticipated for May. This truly is a double headliner kind of show, Schoolboy has made a name for himself in the past couple years. Categorized under the genres of drumstep and dubstep, Schoolboy has been sampled by many big name artists mostly for his remix of Swedish House Mafia’s and Knife Party’s “Antidote,” also for his biggest hit “Zombies ate my Neighbours.” Some of his tracks have some pretty mesmerizing melodies packed with massive basslines. This will be a fantastic show at Austin’s Fuel Room, so be sure to grab your tickets here!
