Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken, the masterminds behind Big Gigantic, are back again with a single from their 5th studio album ‘The Night Is Young’ due out in early February. In the last 5 years Big G has shaken up the EDM and festival scene going from small crowds in support tents to rocking main stages everywhere. The undeniable sax talent of Lalli and the drum beat soul of Salken make for incredible grooves from start to finish, leaving the urge to sit still a distant memory.

This forthcoming single titled "Touch the Sky" is no different. The signature vocal sampling and cuts are paired with a build up we have grown accustomed to. A few seconds in and we are grooving slow, quickly juxtaposed by fast classic synth sounds that are moving at a pace the listener feels ready to dance to. But, as happens with so many Big G songs, they do not maintain one sound throughout the track. The first bass and kicks we hear are slow and ‘trappy’, but as we get past the breakdown the listener is tossed into a hard house style bassline that will have you jumping up and down, only to be thrown right back into it’s trap beginnings.

Big Gigantic are playing two shows at NYC’s iconic Roseland Ballroom (shutting it’s doors for good in April) with The White Panda, Paper Diamond and DallasK on Dec 30th and 31st. These shows are not one’s to be missed. This duo shows no signs of slowing into 2014, make sure to grab their album come February.
