Armin van Buuren returned to New York a month after his Madison Square Garden show A State Of Trance 600 for an intimate performance in Sirius XM’s Electric Aquarium. The bonafide jet-setter headed straight to New York solely for this event, after performing for the King and Queen of the Netherlands only a few days prior. Broadcast on Sirius XM’s Electric Area, listeners across the world got an exclusive listen to tracks off his upcoming album “Intense.”

Eager fans awaited Armin’s arrival as they peered through the sound proof glass surrounding the studio. After a preliminary interview discussing “Intense” and answering fan questions, Armin finally got on the decks as fans huddled around. Snapping photos and chanting “Armin,” his fans didn’t miss a beat when he began his set with his title track “Intense” featuring Miri Ben-Ari. Being only inches away from van Buuren as he DJed in a small room was a surreal moment. Only originally scheduled to play one hour, van Buuren continued on for another hour giving a truly memorable performance. His second hour was devoted to playing his classic tracks and fan requests. Moving through tracks like “Burned With Desire” to “Never Giving Up On Love,” the room belt out the lyrics word for word.

The truly humble van Burren finished his set and stuck around to take photos with everyone who requested one. This event was truly a dream come true for any devoted Van Buuren fan. Only a handful of fans will ever be able to say they spent 2 hours feet from van Buuren as he played one of his most intimate performances to date. From New York he moved on to LA for the first date of his “Intense” tour that will continue through May 26 in Dallas. From there van Buuren will continue his 'A State Of Trance' radio show and welcome his second child into the trance family.
