2014 elektro Freshmen Class: David Heartbreak
Starting with a tale reminiscent of the Notorious B.I.G, Bed-Stuy born and bred producer David Heartbreak has a different route in mind for his success. David Heartbreak (born David Hart) began playing drums and writing songs as a child that eventually translated to him becoming an artist.
Fascinated with sound design, computers and weird noises, David began digging deeper and deeper into electronic culture and music.
Production remained a hobby for David as he focused on school and making production a full time job. However, finance would soon become his plan B. “I decided to make music a full time career in 2010 when I was working a 9-5 job and trying to tour the world, "It didn’t make sense to me anymore to be stuck in a cubicle doing something I hated for the rest of life...”
Years Later, after an introduction by close friend DJ Craze to an eccentric Sonny Moore, aka Skrillex, David found himself as a new signee to the OWSLA imprint in 2013. Since catching the world’s attention with breakout track “Acid Youth’s and Juggernaut,” David has been busy in the studio working on his debut album due out this summer on OWSLA.
