Tiesto Wins GRAMMY for Best Remixed Recording
Tiesto has won the GRAMMY for Best Remixed Recording with his "Birthday Treatment Remix" of John Legend's "All Of Me." This is Tiesto's first GRAMMY win, which beats out MING's remix of Crossfinger's "Falling Out," Audien's remix of Bastille's "Pompeii," Eddie Amador's remix of Five Knives' "The Rising," Kaskade's remix of Galantis' "Smile," and Robin Schulz's remix of Mr. Probz "Waves."
Earlier today, Tiesto shared a picture on Facebook of a chocolate GRAMMY, saying "Thanks for the chocolate grammy this morning..Hopefully I get a real one later today!" Now the Dutch superstar DJ-producer has a real one, and surely this victory tastes twice as sweet.
The remix that won Tiesto the GRAMMY was released on February 24, 2014, via Getting Out Our Dreams and Columbia Records. You can purchase the remix on iTunes. While this is his first GRAMMY win, we suspect there will be more in the future. Tiesto is fresh off releasing the music video for his track alongside his frequent collaborator MOTi have released their climactic big room collaboration "Blow Your Mind" via Tiesto’s Musical Freedom imprint.
Tiesto's victory may come as a bit of a disappointment for the 23-year-old Audien. However, the future is very bright for this young star. While he may not have a Grammy just yet, he has been signed to Astralwerks, the label that helped Swedish House Mafia, Porter Robinson and Duke Dumont and cross over to the mainstream.
On top of that, he recently sold out his first headlining tour and signed a residency at Marquee in Las Vegas. The GRAMMY wins can come later. Watch for Audien to continue to build off an incredible 2014.
