Thomas Gold @ LIV Miami 5/16 Reviewed
Thomas Gold graced Miami fans and Fontainebleau guests with his presence Thursday, May 16th, at one of the hottest clubs in Miami; LIV. From the clubs opening until about 1:30am, LIVs’ resident DJ Mednas (featured on multiple Tiestos Club Life Podcast) pounded the dance floor with some deep tech house for the first hour, before switching to a slightly more progressive feel in preparation for Thomas Gold. The name behind the Fanfare song, tour, and podcast hopped behind the decks just past 1:30am, and was joined by two fanfare girls dancing back and forth on the stage in front of him. Playing for over three hours, he belted out tune after tune, dropping of course his famous originals like "Fanfare," "Sing 2 Me," and his hard-hitting remix of Miike Snow's "The Wave." Thomas also threw in mash-ups like Otto Knows' "Million Voices" VS One Republic's "Apologize" to the crowd's enjoyment. About one hour into his set he gave the crowd a breather, looping just the vocals from the Chemical Brothers "Galvanize." As he slowly raised both the BPM and the crowd to the repeating words “My Finger is on the button,” he gave everyone a chance to muster up some energy before bringing in a hard drop and going on for another two plus hours to close out the club and the night. Confetti cannons, lasers, and plenty of light up goodies for the crowd just the usual for LIV nightclub, it was certainly a night to remember.
