At only 20 years old, Sam Lassner, aka Prince Fox, has been making heavy waves in NYC's EDM scene, most recently with  his remix of 3lau's 'How You Love Me' which soared up Hype Machine's charts and broke the 100k mark last week. It can be hard to break through the noise in America's largest metropolis, but his success stands to make a mark. His latest track, a cover of Sam Smith's "Stay With Me" has hit 3,000 plays in 3 hours and stands to be a hit.

Ever since Disclosure fueled Smith's crossover onto American charts, the British Singer-Songwriter has been a popular pick for the remix treatment - but Lassner's take stands apart. The remix expands upon the original melancholy, half-note chord progression by filling  in the open space with wavering decays and a twinkling melody.  A host of Prince Foxian sounds float over Smith's crooning vocals as they build to crescendo over steady snaps - and then the rhythm falls out to leave space for a cute, tempered sample before dropping into a slow, wobbling chorus that feels reminiscent of melodic dubstep while staying in electro-pop land.

This kid's gonna be a star.

See you on the dancefloor,
Jesse Wheaton
