Rusko's brand new EP, "Kapow", has officially been released today, and is available for download free of charge. This release, which will also be available iTunes on November 6th, is a four-track workout that blends dubstep, rave anthems, and hip-hop with an energy that only Rusko can deliver. The EP's opening track, "Yeah", brings a uplifting sound that combines jagged basslines and vocal pieces, until dropping in a wobbly dubstep breakdown that is reminiscent of his older material. Paying homage to Ali G, the following track is titled "Booyakasha", and packs the same kind of aggressive energy we've come to expect from Rusko, but with a new twist. This time, he places less emphasis on the twisty, slow-jamming dubstep sounds that have become associated with Rusko, and brings a progressive dubstep sound that combines elements of hardstyle and electro-house, creating a true rave masterpiece. “Bring It Back” presents melodic, stadium-moving synth progressions, while blending twisted dubstep basslines with old school piano licks and a touch of soul. Certainly a new formula for Rusko, but presents an effective new style for the producer. Rusko continues his new innovative style with the EP's closing track, "Like This", which combines his signature dubstep basslines with electro-house key progressions and various vocal cuts, as well as elements of rave to create something entirely unique from Rusko. While he has not separated himself from the bass-driven sounds he has become famous for, "Kapow" presents a brand new style for Rusko that still packs the same blood-rushing energy his past productions are made of. Expect Rusko to continue a new tradition of innovation with his future releases. "Kapow" is available for free download through Ruskoonfire.com/kapow.
