Stop pretending to be John Dahlbäck on Facebook and Twitter!

This man has been a consistently respected producer in the electronic music scene for nearly a decade now, with productions spanning from deep and techy, to progressive and chunky, and now finally, with his latest single "One Last Ride" out on Big Beat, just plain effervescent. This new school ballad features goosebump-raising vocals from fellow Swede Erik Hassle surrounded by airy pumping synths creating an epic crossover hit.

elektro:  Being born in Sweden, who were your biggest influences in music?
John Dahlbäck: My parents have great taste in music. I grew up listening to Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Elis Regina and legend like that. Those were my earlier influences.

You come from a very musical family-- what did they play?
My mother is a singer and my father is a drummer.

Were they supportive of you choosing to go into the music business?
They were! They are really open to music and I think it was exciting for them to hear this kind of music.

Who are your favorite EDM artists at the moment?
Albin Myers and Tommy Trash.

Your latest release, "One Last Ride" has remixes from Felix Cartel,Tommy Trash, and My Digital Enemy. Can we expect any other remixes to come out?
There is nothing planned at the moment, but you never know!

The video for "One Last Ride" takes us on a journey from the beginning of a night of partying to the end. Was this the idea when you were creating the song?
The video director had this idea when the first heard the song, and I think it goes well in hand with the music. Plus everyone thought it was really nice to see Las Vegas in a black and white perspective!

What is your favorite place to stay when you are in Las Vegas?
There are a bunch of hotels I love to stay at when I'm there. One of my favorites is the Palms Place, which is a small boutique design hotel connected to the Palms.

If you had one last night to party, what city would it be in?
In Stockholm with all my friends!

What's your favorite drink?
Champagne.

Scariest groupie moment?
I think it's really scary when people pretend to be me on Facebook and Twitter. I don't know if they think it would be flattering, but its just really freaky.

If you could have one superhero power what would it be?
To be able to fly. Imagine that!

What was your first job?
I worked at a gas station. And yes it was as boring as it sounds! I was terrible as
well.

If you weren't a DJ what would you be doing?
I studied advertising, so I suppose that!

What are your goals for the future, both professionally and in life?
I have new mix CD coming out in February 2012 on Toolroom Records-- so excited! I just want keep making great music and rock every show I'm doing. And while I have produced, I'd like to get involved more in producing for other artists.
