The original version by Grimes featured lulling soundscapes and ethereal choruses of siren-like voices strummed along an up-tempo indie-dance beat. Krusha and Expendable Youth’s re-working recreates all of that unearthly beauty set amongst a gorgeous trance intro that later falls away into the most beautiful drum and bass we’ve heard in a long while. Warm, luminous, and hypnotic, the track plays is almost divine in its evocation of clarity. There’s talk that drum and bass is a dying genre, but these two Vancouver-based producers have given us hope for the future of the often overlooked world of original bass music; this little number is a true gem and we thank you guys for giving us such a thing of beauty.
