While flurries of snow blanketed the city of New York, glitter and mist descended upon the crowd at Marquee. Dazzling lights and glitter-masked dancers set the gorgeous array of booze-guzzling gentlemen and gals into a reverie before the main event: Gareth Emery.
Gareth came on at 1am, to an anticipating crowd that roared to a sensational combo of progressive house with a trance influence. Notable selections in the set were remixes and mash-ups of Benny Benassi’s “Satisfaction,” Mat Zo’s & Porter Robinson’s “Easy,” and of course, the highlight of the night: Concrete Angel. Emery also played Daddys Groove’s, “Stella,” the first track on the latest Gareth Emery Podcast, #219. In typical Gareth Emery style, it was one hour of big room before a sudden transition into a more trance-induced playlist - vamping the diverse musical palettes of the Saturday night attendees.
At 3am, Gareth made his timely exit from Marquee, securing another fantastic night at the 3-week old nightclub.
This week at Marquee: David Guetta February 6th, Danny Howells February 8th, Rony Seikaly February 9th.
