The North American festival season is in full swing with fans looking forward to a jam-packed next two months across various locales. However, a persistent nuisance of attendees continues to be the short-lived battery life of smart phones which has made it a tactical challenge to use your device only when needed – a first world problem indeed. To compensate for the eventual draining of battery life, some individuals bring duplicate gadget batteries, others ensure a full charge prior to departing, and a handful live life on the edge. The portable power pack is another option out there that is just as, if not more, effective, and can be shared across a range of devices – iPhones, Androids, iPads – within your group depending on its capabilities.

The HyperJuice Plug offers the excellent performance, but does cost a steep $159.95. The power pack can simultaneously charge both an iPhone and an iPad. During the tests, it took the iPhone to full charge (from 29%) in a little more than an hour, while also re-charging the iPad to full charge (from 39%) in an hour and a half. While the device is on the larger side, weighing almost a pound, and taking 12 hours to re-charge itself, the HyperJuice is one of the more reliable battery backups for longetivity and performance. The manufacturer claims it can charge a phone 12 times prior to needing a re-charge.
