Skrillex’s label, OWSLA/Nest, released a 4-track EP entitled “Challenger” by Durante. The EP tells a musical story in what you can imagine is the intro, the build, the peak, and literally, the crash. The opening track, “Take A Look,” is a nice deep house introduction to Durante. It’s kind of mysterious so as to make you want to “take a look” at this artist’s amazing music. The following track “Radio” packs a heavy punch, a song fit for the soundtracks of major nightclubs and summer festivals, made to make the kids dance. The third track, by the EP’s name, “Challenger” is a head bopper and sure to make both your entire mind and body bounce. The release's final track “Crash” is what you might feel after coming down from the high of “Challenger.” In the end, you might even get a relaxing calm vibe, before it all slips into oblivion. This EP is reminiscent of some of the deep house the label’s boss, Skrillex, has been working with in past months, a complete departure from his signature dubstep, yet a great example of the versatility of the producer and his humble acknowledgement of the diverse genres of dance music.
