Richie Hawtin and Loco Dice Announce Groundbreaking College Tour, CNTRL: BEYOND EDM

elektro is proud to announce that we are a media partner for CNTRL: BEYOND EDM - ELECTRONIC & TECHNO(LOGY) BASED MUSIC, spearheaded by electronic music innovators and world-class DJs Richie Hawtin and Loco Dice. They are launching a music and technology tour of American and Canadian colleges, taking the history and the future of the platform to the very people who could well be the next generation of producers, DJs and innovators. The tour will combine daytime lectures on music technology presented by DUPSPOT, followed by an evening of electronic music with Hawtin, Dice, Ean Golden from DJ TechTools and their touring guest DJ's.

The series is set to launch October 29 in Buffalo, NY, followed by the Berklee College of Music on October 31 and NYU's’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music on November 3. CNTRL will feature a selection of artists whom Hawtin and Dice feel will give a good cross-section of the current and cutting-edge sounds of electronic music, including Carl Craig, Seth Troxler, Kevin Saunderson, Josh Wink, Victor Calderone, Paco Osuna, controller specialist DJ TechTools’ Ean Golden and others joining on specific days throughout the tour.

CNTRL is all about engaging young North American fans of EDM and showing them the roots of the music, the history of a global movement and demonstrating what the future of music technology and performance has the power to become. The tour will take place in over 15 cities across the eastern part of North America (with a West Coast leg to be planned for 2013). A complete list of cities, schools and venues follows below.
