Beacon “The Phoenix” Wireless Speaker: When It Comes To Sound, Size Does NOT Matter
The title of this post says it all. I recently got my hands on a Beacon "Phoenix" Wireless Bluetooth Speaker and was able to test and play with it for a full weekend. When I received the tiny shopping bag containing the speaker, I thought someone had left a cupcake on my desk. Since the speaker stands at just 3 inches tall and 3 inches wide, you can see how I mistook it for a small pastry.
The Phoenix's arrival was perfectly timed, as I was making my way down to Atlantic City and wanted to test it out against a hotel room's iDock speaker system; the device rarely packs the sonic punch I need when I want to get amped and ready for the night ahead. On Friday night, I was getting ready while blasting the elektro x Spotify Fall Issue Playlist (a must-listen!) and, to my surprise, the speaker held up. I kept cranking it louder and louder and the speaker did not fail me. As I neared the end of the playlist I was almost ready to head to dinner when a doorbell rang. I went to the door and there stood two security guards. I opened the door and they immediately were surveying the room to see what the hell was going on. They told me they had gotten noise complaints of a massive party happening in my room. (Mind you, it was only me in the room.) I invited the two security guards in and showed them the speaker. They could not believe it. I then played Dada Life "Feed The Dada" at full capacity and the looks on their faces were priceless.
I did the same on Saturday but kept the volume a bit lower but, even after a night on full blast, The Phoenix held up. I loved every second of having this device with me and I plan on taking it everywhere I travel because not only can I blast the music loud, but it can fit in my backpack as well. With an affordable price of $99.95 and three colorways (black, red, blue), the Phoenix is an absolute must-have.
