Armin Van Buuren Announces ASOT Top 20 in 2011

Another year, another A State of Trance (ASOT) Top 20. This year’s selection of fan faves were announced by the trance-master himself during last week's A State of Trance 540 radio show and will soon be available for download as a mixed compilation. To create the 2011 Top 20, nearly 16,500 listeners cast their votes, American Idol-style. Clocking in at #1 was Aly and Fila with “We Control the Sunlight.”

Alex M.O.R.P.H. and Sylvia Tosun came in at a close #2 (just 100 votes off!) with their big room banger, “An Angel’s Love,” a track Armin has been playing, peak-room since its late 2011 release. Other memorable tunes that made the list were Above and Beyond’s “Sun and Moon” and Arty & Mat Zo’s “Re Bound.”

Armin has been above and beyond busy with ASOT this year, touring the globe in celebration of ASOT milestones such as ASOT 500, which included 5 parties in 5 different continents. Next up for this former #1 DJ according to the DJ Mag poll - now #2 after passing the torch to David Guetta - will be to commemorate ASOT 550, which will be celebrated over six days of parties in March and April of 2012. To gear fans up for the ASOT 550 celebration, Armin ran another contest with fans called "Future Favorite," which encouraged fans to vote on a theme song for ASOT 550. W&W took home the trance torch for the banger "Invasion."
