Amtrac Stays Hot with His New Remix of ‘Something New’

Even if you're unfamiliar with Axwell Λ Ingrosso, chances are you've heard their latest single, 'Something New,' which is featured in the #SoloSelfie commercial from Beats by Dre.

Aside from tearing up the charts, the single hinted at the new direction for the duo formerly of Swedish House Mafia. Now, Amtrac has taken liberties with the track, making 'Something New' sound like... well, something new.

By bringing down the pitch, Amtrac transforms the bright, energetic track into a smooth, soothing track that's tailor-made for the sound systems of the underground clubs.

Stellar remixes is something Amtrac has made a habit of, and it seems like Sweden's superstars have taken notice. This remix comes shortly after his rework of Alesso's single 'Heroes.' Both Alesso and Axwell Λ Ingrosso are signed to Def Jam Records, and have been announced as dance music headliners at this year's Coachella.

Coachella's other EDM headliner, Kaskade, is also someone who is quite familiar with Amtrac. After opening for Kaskade on his Redux and Atmosphere Tours, Amtrac released a remix of 'Atmosphere,' and would later collaborate with Kaskade himself on 'Yep.'

Having been rapidly rising since last year, Amtrac may prove to have an even bigger year in 2015. He kicked off the year in proper fashion having performed at the BPM Festival, then dropping a track that he made during his time there - and one that may have already established itself as a candidate for one of the year's best.
