It is truly amazing how many genres of music, electronic music has connected. We've seen many remixes of classic rock songs, R&B songs, hip-hop songs, and even classical music songs. Zedd's remix of "Dovregubben" is the most popular example, applying electro-house techniques to the original Edward Grieg composition. Now, Steve Aoki, Angger Dimas, and Dmitri Vegas & Like Mike have brought us "Phat Brahms", an EDM reworking of Johannes Brahms' "Hungarian Dance No. 5". The track, which debuted at Tomorrowland 2012, stays true to Brahms' melody as it builds to its chaotic drop that supplies electro-house and dubstep-like elements. The track's preview is enough to tell that the all-star cast of this production has not disappointed with this modernized version of Brahms' composition. Now, 143 years after the song was written, its tune is back to rock dance clubs and festivals all over the world. Steve Aoki, Angger Dimas, Dmitri Vegas & Like Mike's "Phat Brahms" drops today on Beatport.
