Two Door Cinema Club “Sleep Alone” The Chainsmokers Remix

The Chainsmokers just released a rework of Two Door Cinema Club’s “Sleep Alone”. The pair does a fantastic job of reinterpreting the song, placing the indie band’s lyrics in an interestingly darker context. The original is a pop-friendly tune typical of Two Door Cinema Club, with the lyrics sung in a rather upbeat way. The Chainsmokers take the essence of the lyrics and hollow out its sound, making for a more eerie and melancholic mood. This rework, along with the duo’s addition of a progressive house backbone, makes for a robust feeling, sure to be a hit when you hear it on the dance floor. While the original comes off as more upbeat, the Chainsmokers highlight the almost nostalgic tone of the lyrics, all the while providing beats that’ll have you dancing the night through as you look for someone to “hold you close."
