YouTube, the world's leading website for all things video, recently named their top trending videos of 2013, describing them as "videos that shook up 2013 and dominated the conversation." Unsurprisingly, "Harlem Shake (original army edition)", a video that portrayed an army doing the insanely viral "Harlem Shake", was named second on the list of trending videos.

Baauer's "Harlem Shake" may have gone viral on YouTube but that's not all. Today, Google released their list of global trending searches for 2013. Google handles over 75% of all web searches from computers and nearly 90% of web searches from phones(via Net Market Share), making it the world's most used search engine. "Harlem Shake" was #5 on Google's list of global trending searches for 2013, putting it above "Royal Baby", "Playstation 4" and more.
