Steve Lawler ‘Avaida’

If first releases are the best indication of what’s to come, Viva Music head honcho Steve Lawler promises us another year of breakthrough music. His first EP release of 2013 shook dance floors throughout the White Isle last year during the ViVa Warriors season 2012, and it’s finally available to fans as a special vinyl picture disc. Nicknamed ‘The Organ Track,’ “Avaida” holds special emotional value for Steve, who is about to become a father; it carries the namesake of his soon-to-be daughter, due this March. A beautifully spirited tune, “Avaida” rides along on a patient and groovy bassline while organ leads blend together with cymbals, synths, and high hats to create a whole lot of funk. This one definitely conjures images of golden afternoons and summertime heat. We’d like to say congratulations to Steve and thank you for giving us such a beautifully engineered track just in time for summer!
