Rotterdam's key deep house purveyor blasted through EDM's glass ceiling in 2013 with his amphibious track "Gecko."  From that point on, the name Oliver Heldens has been associated with the 90s influenced deep house trend that's taken EDM by storm and effectively wiped away the hard-hitting atonal percussive trend that preceded it.  With a DMC Magazine Buzz Chart #1 position under his belt and an "Essential Tune of the Week" accolade from BBC's taste-making Pete Tong, Heldens has had a landmark 2014.  "Melody" marks his first original mix to be released in 2015 and features a somber piano chord melody filled with tense chromatic tones that propel the listener into the hi-hat laden second part of the 16 bar drop.  After his Zeds Dead collaboration "You Know" topped Beatport's coveted "Top Ten" chart in less than a week, we can only expect a similar fate from Helden's newest creation, "Melody."

Judging by the later released vocal mixes of Oliver's "Gecko" which became "Overdrive" and "Koala" which became "Last All Night," we can also anticipate a vocal top line to be laid over "Melody." Similar to most of Helden's previous releases such as "Pikachu" and "Koala," we're being brought this tastefully crafted work of future house from the label that brought us EDM powerhouse label. You can pick up each of his releases on Beatport.

Catch Oliver Heldens live as he headlines NYC's premiere dance venue Pacha NYC on Saturday, February 21st between his massive sets at Ultra South Africa, Europe and Electronic Daisy Carnival Mexico. Head to Oliver Heldens' official Facebook page for tickets and more information.
