In one of the more substantive actions highlighting the staying power of dance music, NYU Tisch’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded music plans to offer a Business of Electronic & Dance Music course next spring. The two credit course will be taught by DJ Rekha, who is a pioneer in the North American bhangra music scene. The course syllabus includes a history of electronic and dance music, with what appears to be a heavy emphasis on the practicality of achieving success in the modern business via case studies and other analyses.
