Dutch-born musician, remixer and producer Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL, who has done remixes for artists such as Coldplay, Bloc Party and Crookers) had the chance to work with Oscar-winning film composer, Hans Zimmer, on the score for the latest Batman film, "Dark Knight Rises.” Included on the soundtrack is a Junkie XL remix of musical cue, “Bombers Over Ibiza.” Prepare to be blown away, especially at 2 min and 8 sec where you'll really see the product of a musical genius. Now this is not the first time the two have worked together, since 2010, Zimmer has enlisted the talents of Holkenborg on several films including Inception, Madagascar 3, and Megamind, as well as other musical projects, including this year’s remix of the The Academy Awards® theme song – pretty impressive, no?

Speaking on the collalboration, Holkenborg says, "signing up for one of the biggest Hollywood film series is a dream of mine. Hans began with Rain Man in the '80s and has composed music for a hundred-plus films. For me, he is not only a friend and colleague, but a living legend and a true mentor. It is both an education and inspiration to work with Hans, day in and day out."

In addition, Holkenborg has also been working on creating the music for the video game, Shinjuku. The game features graphics from famous Japanese artist, Yashitako Amano (Final Fantasy). Shinjuku is due out this fall. Junkie XL's first new album since 2008’s Booming Back At You, will also be released later this year.
