This weekend kicks off the 2015 Hangout Music Festival, a three-day event (plus a kickoff party on Thursday night) featuring a variety of music's biggest names across numerous genres. However, it was recently announced that there would be an alteration of the lineup, as pop sensation Sam Smith was forced to cancel numerous tour dates. Billboard reported on May 7 that "On Instagram Thursday morning, he regretfully announced to his 3.7 million followers that he will undergo vocal surgery that will render him unable to serenade audiences for 6-8 weeks." This unfortunate news come only 10 days following his announcement that he was forced to cancel his Australian tour due to the same ailment.

However, Skrillex and Diplo have stepped in to provide a silver lining to Sam Smith's situation — an impromptu Jack U set to fill the void left by Smith's cancellation. On Friday, May 15, the superduo will close out the Boom Boom Tent from 9-11PM. Major Lazer had already been scheduled to perform at the festival on Saturday, closing out the same stage from 9-10:30PM, while Skrillex's solo set is also scheduled for 7:15-9PM on the Surf Stage, so Hangout Fest is getting a double dose of Skrillex and Diplo.

Aside from this massive addition to the lineup, Hangout Fest already comes jam-packed with great electronic artists to catch. At the Boom Boom Tent, fans can catch Adventure Club, Gramatik, SNBRN, Beats Antique, Krewella, GRiZ, Robert Delong and Goldroom. On all three days of the festival, Mija, jackLNDN, Autograf and Sean Glass will be performing at the Malibu Beach House, with a special performance from Jillionaire on Saturday at 3:30-4:45PM. See the full lineup on the official Hangout Music Festival website.
