While in celebration of their 27th anniversary, !K7 records has announced the release Erol Alkan’s new coming-of-age album featuring two CDs: Bugged Out and Bugged In.” Both discs will serve two separate purposes, with one side being more club-oriented while the other is aimed at home listening, and each track was mixed live by Erol in a couple of takes with no computerized beat matching or studio trickery.

“For me, that’s what DJing is about, spontaneity, mistakes, records trying to keep up with one another,” says Erol. “I didn’t want to detract from capturing that moment. That’s where – for me – the electricity lies: in the moment, not crafting something that’s perfect on a computer.”

Looking at the two CDs as a whole, the Bugged Out mix is an exhilarating document of club music at it’s most urgent and irresistible, while the Bugged In selection is hours of sounds at their most dreamlike state.

The entire compilation will be released on September 3, 2012 on the !K7 website.
