The entertainment capital of the world knows a thing or two about throwing together a party, and with a penchant for attracting top-tier talent, the city of angels is going to be raging (in a good way!) from downtown to Hollywood all the way to the Orange County Line on NYE 2012.
Dada Life @ Shrine Auditorium
This massive party at downtown LA’s Shrine Auditorium will feature fresh to death Swedish duo Dada Life and a slew of yet to be unannounced dance acts. We like surprises, MUTHAF......A!
John Digweed @ Avalon
EDM legend John Digweed will play LA club favorite, Avalon for a night of “ethereal, swirling cinematic soundscapes and energy-infused bass-bothering tech growlers.” We predict a sell out.
Bootie NYE @ The Echoplex
LA’s longstanding weekly mashup dance party will turn it up to eleven for their NYE bash. The party will feature Bootie residents DJ Paul V, DJ SHYBOY and DJ FAROFF, a balloon drop and midnight champagne toast.
Cleopatra’s Ball @ The Egyptian Theatre
Cleaopatra’s Ball, one of LA’s largest NYE events, will feature a balloon drop, confetti blast, LED light show and the all-important open bar. Created by the crew behind some of LA’s poshest clubs, the Ball is a go to for old (like ancient) school holiday fun.
NYE @ Playhouse
Put on your favorite mask for the Venetian Carnival themed party at LA hotspot Playhouse. The party will feature concealed identities, aerial acts and music by Manufactured Supersarss.
Together As One @ Oak Canyon Park
Billed as “America’s Largest Outdoor New Year’s Eve Dance Music Festival,” this party on the outskirts of LA (the rustic ranch venue alone is worth the drive, er, car service please), will feature a no scrubs lineup that includes Laidback Luke, Diplo, Duck Sauce, MiMOSA, LA Riots and DJ sets from Chromeo and Bloody Beetroots.
Dillon Francis @ Control at the Avalon (12/30)
Dillon Francis once called the Avalon his favorite club in Los Angeles, (via the Huffington Post LA), so it makes sense the LA-born wunderkind is returning to Avalon’s legendary club night Control for a New Year’s Eve eve homecoming show. Underground dupstep phenomenon Caspa shares the night’s billing.
Beats Antique + Emancipator @ Club Nokia (12/30)
The DoLab presents symphonic electro crew Beats Antique and the always gorgeous soundscapes of Emancipator for this pre-New Year’s show at downtown LA’s Club Nokia.
NYE @ Vanguard
Vanguard, an ever reliable venue for world class dance and incredible people watching will celebrate the start of 2012 with four rooms of music from “world-class Dj talent,” a crew of go-go dancers and a laser show. Vanguard expects a crowd of 2,000 revelers.
