In August it was reported that Insomniac would be bringing their world famous Electric Daisy Carnival to upstate New York. It was to take place at Winston Farm in Suagerties, New York, the location of the 1994 Woodstock concert. Unfortunately, Electric Daisy Carnival will not be taking place at the iconic location after all.

Saugerties Town Supervisor, Kelly Myers, said they simply can't handle an event like Electric Daisy Carnival. Also, the Schaller Family, owners of Winston Farm, had some concerns as well. Insomniac never had a license to host the festival there, only a written agreement with the Schaller Family. It seems that the family was particularly concerned with security. Electric Daisy Carnival New York 2014 will have to find a new location.

Insomniac’s vice president of communications and public affairs, Jennifer Forkish, released an official statement regarding the EDC New York change of plans:

“The proposal was denied by the Schaller family, the owners of Winston Farms, who did not feel comfortable hosting a dance music festival on their site. Local officials often have questions over any type of mass gathering and this was no different. However, the proposal was nixed due to a lack of venue, not due to health and safety concerns.”
