DJ-Kicks series – Digitalism

The latest entry into the DJ-Kicks series is by the German duo Digitalism, which is comprised of Jens Moelle and Ismail Tufekci. Fittingly, Jens and Ismail have come full circle from when they met twelve years ago as record store workers. They were in Hamburg selling the DJ-Kick series (favorites include Tiga, Playgroup, and Erlend Oye).

Digitalism's sounds can best be described as a blend of electro rock and synth-pop, new wave and trance, techno and disco - in other words, hard to categorize but a mix that discretely stamps Digitalism's daring, impetuous style.

The duo describes their goal as blending Digitalism music with “timeless pieces that describe us and our sound. It shouldn't be just another contemporary DJ mix.” The end mix contains a handful of exclusive tracks for the DJ-Kicks series.
