Everything appears to be ready, but how can one truly prepare for what's to come at Day of Discovery? First off, to say Aruba is a paradise--nay--haven of divinity, is an understatement. The ocean transparent, the sands softer and whiter and the temperature just right whilst still maintaining enough wind to blow you gently in your hammock. And let's face it, the flamingos roaming the beaches are a nice touch. It's easy to see why DJ Chuckie would not only move his whole family out to this wonderland, but to insist on making Aruba the capitol of EDM music in all the Caribbean.

Last week we got the pleasure to go to the Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino to see what DJ Chuckie had in store for us. All we knew going in was that he was going to play at the Day of Discovery as well as make a big announcement at a conference held right beforehand.

When arriving at the hotel, everywhere you looked there was a new surprise. Whether it was the beautiful private beach or the newly renovated rooms, it was hard to keep yourself calm. Not to mention the casino that was on main floor of the hotel.

On the Day of Discovery and the conference, the entire hotel sold out just so that they could lay eyes on the man himself. Once in the conference room, DJ Chuckie along with three others immediately gave the news to the group. On September 6th, 7th and 8th Aruba will hold the first ever Electric Festival. This will be an annual event that is mainly sponsored by The Aruba Tourism Authority and helped organized by the Aruba Tourism Authority, Amsterdam Dance Event, Evenpro and GM Affairs Caribbean. Throughout the weekend Aruba expects to have around 3000 international people attending the festival with a minimum of 70 press. The panel has already announced that Hardwell and Slash will be playing and plan to give out details on phase two later this week.

The weekend will not only focus on the festival but also have a music conference powered by Amsterdam Dance Events. This will also included studio sessions, workshops and exhibitions for DJ’s to business entrepreneurs to fans.

Lastly, DJ Chuckie announced the launch of his Play Foundation. Starting in Aruba but with the hopes to take global, the Play Foundation was created to bring youth closer to their love of music. Chuckie explained, “Through music i can do a lot of things and since I live in Aruba, why not establish something because it is a playground for musical talent.” During the weekend of Electric Festival he will be holding the event Solarbeats in which the Play Foundation will be presenting a gift of Solar Panels to the first school in Aruba. Their overall mission if to have these panels on 84 schools by 2020.

The panel was overall informative and is keeping everyone on their toes waiting for phase two to be announced. After the conference everyone got to get a piece of the Play cake and made their ways to the pool deck for the rest of the night’s events.

And onto the party….

DJ Chuckie took the stage to an exuberant crowd thanks to his supporting DJs Genairo Nvilla, Nutzbeatz, Mista Tee and SMB. There were even people in the surrounding streets dancing to the music that they could hear overflowing the hotel’s pool deck. Chuckie played a variety of tracks other than his own starting the night with “You’ve got the Love” and even Avicii’s “Levels.” He then went on to play tracks such Zedd’s “Clarity” and Hardwells “Spaceman” which event scratching a little in between. The entire party was an upbeat and exciting way to celebrate the Day of Discovery as well as kicking off the start of Electric Festival and the Play Foundation.

So to sum it all up here’s what you should do,

1.Book your flights for Aruba the Weekend of September 6th through the 8th (maybe tack a few days on either side)
2.Book your hotels – We would definitely recommend the Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino as the best place to stay.
3.GET READY TO JUMP WITH DJ CHUCKIE DOWN IN ARUBA
