Everything Everything – ‘Distant Past’ (Alex Metric Remix)

U.K. DJ-producer Alex Metric has been somewhat quiet recently on the production front. He's been busy making his rounds on the festival circuit, becoming a staple of OWSLA's constant touring stage takeovers at events like TomorrowWorld and Stereosonic. Aside from his remix of Madeon's "You're On," Alex Metric has been quiet since his 2014 hit single, "Heart Weighs A Ton," which marked one of the year's best tracks and one of Metric's most impressive releases to date.

Well now, Alex Metric is back with his latest club weapon. It's a remix of Everything Everything's "Distant Past," and it supplies the kind of addictive dance-y sound that people have come to associate with Alex Metric. Having been bringing us infectious house rhythms that are unmistakably his own, this track is an indication that Alex Metric has no intention of changing up the sound that his fans know and love, which is great news to us. Hopefully this track is also an indication that Alex is spending some more time in the studio, because this remix only leaves us thirsty for more. Check out the remix above.
