Diplo has always been known to touch all bases of electronic music in his live sets. Electro, big room, progressive, and trap have all been part of the melting pot that are Diplo's performances. Even as a producer with eclectic tastes, Diplo has really gone outside the boundaries with his newest production "About That Life" featuring Jahan Lennon. This new track sounds like something taken from the acid-rock movement of the late-'60s and '70s, with a psychedelic feel that sounds inspired by the Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper and the Lonely Hearts Club Band" album. The song contains steady claps and drums, acoustic guitar, and flutes that sound straight out of India. Not what we're used to from Diplo in the least, but presents an interesting direction the producer has gone with the song. As electronic music continues to branch out through all genres of music, now we're even seeing it travel back in time to the days of the hippies, who preached "peace and love". So when you think about it, the hippies and those immersed in the EDM culture aren't so different after all.
