The Meatpacking District underwent a radical facelift beginning in the late 90’s. The neighborhood once known for its slaughterhouses, drug dealing, and transsexual prostitution was now on the make as high-end boutiques, posh hotels, and restaurants opened their doors giving the area a new identity.

Cielo set up shop on 12th Street in 2003. The club will celebrate its 9th anniversary on Saturday, January 28th with Cassy, a resident DJ of Berlin’s premier techno club, Panorama Bar.

Cassy will be supported by resident DJs Willie Graff and Nicolas Matar. Matar, who is also a co-owner of the club, captures Cielo’s essence: “Cielo has been a labor of love from the very beginning for all those involved. Everything we do is for the love of dance music - from the sound, hospitality, lighting, and quality of music. All are designed to provide a superior night of clubbing."

With its impeccable Funktion One sound system and stunning lighting, the venue is regarded as one of the top clubs in the world today. Cielo is home to legendary weekly residencies such as Francois K’s Deep Space Mondays and Louie Vega’s Roots Wednesdays while also hosting global superstar DJ talent like Nick Warren and James Zabiela.

$20 tickets are available for Cielo’s 9th Anniversary at Resident Advisor
