Immediately after hearing Carmada’s first single “Maybe,” Skrillex‘s own label OWSLA jumped on the opportunity to sign the Aussie production duo. Hailing from Sydney, members L D R U and Yahtzel dropped their debut Realise EP shortly after, and are currently positioned to emerge as one of the next big groups to come out of Australia. “Maybe” quickly racked up close to 1 million plays, proving they’re already set to take the industry by storm with their unique and inventive hip-hop production style. Their energetic and forward-thinking style comfortably fits within the OWSLA camp. From the trap/future-bass sensibilities of “Maybe” to the funk/tropical house-oriented “Carmalude,” the Realise EP is one of the most diverse and well-rounded releases in recent memory.

They recently hit the Triple J studio in Australia to show that their talents range outside of their productions as well. For the popular segment titled "Like A Version," which invites artists to perform covers of other artists and live versions of their own songs, Carmada covered the popular single from Major Lazer and DJ Snake, "Lean On," featuring Denmark vocalist MØ.

The duo teamed up with Rob Taylor, who does a pretty good job matching the unique vocals of MØ. The cover is filled with great live percussion and tropical house-influenced grooves that give the track a nice spin while staying true to its summer-friendly sound. This isn't the last you'll hear of Carmada. Watch for more to come from this exciting up and coming group soon. Check out the cover above.
