Last September (2014), Avicii cancelled all future shows, citing health problems as the cause behind the cancellation. This happened just months after he was forced to undergo emergency surgery during Miami Music Week, causing him to miss a main stage spot at Ultra Music Festival and a slew of other music week gigs.

Almost one year to the day later, Avicii has been forced to cancel another tour, postponing all remaining shows in 2015. This time, however, he is affirming the rumors that have been circulating regarding him for some time now — the idea that perhaps he has been caught up in the fast-paced superstar lifestyle.

In a statement to Billboard, he says, “I look forward to keep being innovative with my team in leading a bigger change than just with my music. In moving my tour promotional responsibilities to next year, I have a great opportunity to focus on myself and spend time trying to grow up in a way I never got the chance to – normal, or as normal as it could get. My team, label and family have encouraged me to do that and I realize not many in my position get that opportunity.”

Stay tuned for more information as the story develops, and future tour announcements.
