Located every year in beautiful Lake Tahoe, CA, a frozen lake beneath stunning mountains, the setting for Snowglobe could not be more perfect. Festival goers traded in bikinis and tanks for all things warm and fuzzy.

From the streets of Chicago and Oakland comes the psychedelic/hip-hop fusion that is the Polish Ambassador. His stage performance and interactive visuals (thanks to Liminus) filled the Sierra Tent with his hypnotic rhythms.

You can download all of his music for free here.

Following PA, Gramatik DJed over a live electric guitarist. Working together, they fused a live version of Gramatik’s funky electric glitch step with tons of soul samples. His new album “The Age of Reason” is absolutely incredible.

Tiesto played to a huge, energized crowd. He switched up drops of popular electro house with a lot of energy in every track and killer DJing. Tiesto knows how to work a crowd.

Always a fun partier, Justin Martin shut down Sunday by throwing down a selection of others booty-tech and funky tech-house, focusing on Dirtybird remixes. He heated up the Igloo tent, properly named for its igloo-like dome that traps in the heat from some sincere getting down. That night he spun the after party at the lounge-like blue room of the Montbleu casino.

From a flaming sculpture to paintings, Snowglobe had art throughout. There was work from talented Graffiti artists and street artist, flaming sculptures, ice ramps and massive paintings such as the one shown above.

One of the only rap groups playing, Zion I was a huge hit. Playing to their West Coast base, they went through old Heroes In The City Of Dope classics, “Coastin’,” and new tracks from their upcoming EP Masters of Ceremony. Amp live mixed on an MPC, throwing 808's over instrumentals while Zumbi rapped and hyped up the crowd. 2 decades in the game, and they’ve only gotten better.

Zeds Dead are incredible live. They have gained prominence for their bass-heavy production, but in the last few years their mixing skills have increased tremendously, and the result is an incredible live set that was a highlight of the night.

Claude VonStroke is by all definitions a bearded god. Gogo girls raved on stage, tech-house rocked booties, the packed igloo heated under the grinding masses, and the fluffy party goers stripped down under the lasers. He closed out the igloo stage and then played the after party that night.

Kaskade shut down the 30th to the largest crowd Snoglobe has seen yet. Though his set was hampered by a blown speaker, he managed to overcome this setback and with the success of “Atmosphere,” the crowd could care less. His DJ set was a perfect combination of heavy drops and chill transitions, a combination of original work and mashups. Kaskade has some of the best house mashups out, usually consisting of one of his tracks acappella over a popular house track.

Dillon Francis’ Moombahton shakes butts. This night was no different. In our interview before our set, he cited Calvin Harris as his biggest inspiration lately, aside from Diplo of course.

Beats Antique's set consisted of gorgeous visuals which included scenes from the 1927 film “Metropolis.” They were one of the unexpected hits. Though they're huge within the Bay Area and Burning Man community, playing the mainstage at Snowglobe gave them exposure to a new audience, and their response was impressive.

Snoop Dogg (Snoop Lion) played through tracks from various eras, mainly his classic 90's songs from Doggystyle. He gave shout outs to all the classic rappers he worked with, and had the crowd do the same. With a massive selection of hits, the crowd sang and smoked along the entire time. He finished his set with a shout out to Biggie, Tupac, and Bob Marley, playing tracks by each and rapping over “Juicy.”

From the rising music scene in Melbourne, Australia, Cut Copy closed out the new year with a live band and a massive fireworks show. At first there was a general vibe of confusion as to why they had been chosen to close. However, they were fantastic for the time and place, the full band made for a once-in-a-lifetime show and some New Years memories.

See you on the dancefloor,

Jesse Wheaton and A.J. Ferriero-Stevens
