The Dirtybird Records label and Claude VonStroke made 2013 their breakout year. With Dirtybird Players at every major festival in the United States and a summer Ibiza residency, Dirtybird brought its distinct sound to the masses. There is no question that the San Francisco-based label, headed by the carefree Claude VonStroke, has made its mark on EDM culture. When you hear a Dirtybird track, you know you're hearing the next big thing in the industry.
Focusing on deep bass rhythms with house and techno influences, the label has shed light on a style of music that fans have been eating up since the label's inception at a barbecue in Golden Gate Park in the early 2000s. After the success of the parties, Clause VonStroke thought it was only fitting to form his own record label. He wanted to have Justin Martin on the first few releases to represent the new music that was coming out of San Francisco. Now, with J. Phlip and Eats Everything as featured artists, as well as Breach and Justin Jay having released on the label this past year, the Dirtybird sound is turning up the bass on house music.
