Not only is he a top-ranking artist (#3 on BeatPort, to be exact, and ten chart-toppers on Hype Machine to boot); Justin Blau is also a philanthropist. Know to fans as 3LAU, the twenty-one-year-old college student/world-famous progressive house DJ and producer is currently in the process of raising funds for Pencils of Promise, a non-profit that creates schools for underpriveleged children in third world countries such as Laos, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. His first attempt, which he dubbed “’Back to New’ Gives Back to PoP” raised $25,000 off proceeds from his hit track, “Back to New.” He’s dedicated to matching that amount by donating $1 from every ticket sold for his 3LAU Your Mind Tour. If you’d like to learn more about 3LAU’s work with Pencils of Promise and how you can contribute, visit his fundraising page and watch the video above. Oh, and make sure you buy tickets for his 3LAU tour—encompassing 22 shows in major cities in the nation, its great music for a great cause.
